I now live in Ekiti, and I do not like it.

The last time I wrote to you, I gave a breakdown of how 2023 went right? Well, it’s just four months into the year, and it feels like two years have passed already. 

I already feel like I have grey hairs and I’m just a babyyyyyyy.

Oooops! Just kidding, I’m a Grandma.

I had mixed feelings when I found out that I was posted to Ekiti instead of Abuja. First, Ekiti of all places?? No offense but what is an EKITI???

No, my direct posting to Abuja didn’t go as planned aaaaand I may or may not have made a fuss about it.

Again, I am just a babyyyyy…

I had a bitter-sweet experience at the camp in Ekiti.

Walk with me…

-When I got to camp, I was told that I would not be able to register because of the arrangement of my name. Ah! The people I came with had all registered. I was the only one left; only me. Me me me me me, and it was really weird.

So you mean after crossing seven seas and seven mountains to this place, y’all will send me back because of the arrangement of my name?

It felt like my village people were after me o! Ah! I couldn’t even tell my parents about the matter. I just chested the whole thing and reported it to God.

A very nice NYSC official helped me fix the problem and voila! I registered and was given my Khaki.

-Please tell me why I got stuck with a roomie (Sylvia) that made it her life’s goal to wake me up by 3am EVERYDAY???

My God! I was soooo angry with my new sleeping pattern.

Ahan… I’ll have to wake up by 3 am, hurry, and take my bath just to get ready for early morning meditation. Nahhhh, It wasn’t a funny experience.

I miss Grace.

Grace was my camp buddy. We were always together to the extent that someone named us “Two-in-one”.

I didn’t like SAED classes for anythinggg. Bruhhhh, I just want to sleep! Why are you keeping me under the sun for 5 hawasssss?

Is it the by-force parades? I always escaped to drama rehearsals o.

-I met really amazing and annoying people in camp. For example, Emeka made it a point of duty to always disturb me during SAED.

His babe didn’t like me o! She thought I wanted to steal her man (this one is another gist for another day sha)

People that went to camp to go’an do love. Leeeemaooo

My Platoon officer called me his 100-level Corper aaaaaaand trust my platoon members to jump on every given opportunity to tease me with the name.

Na slim I slim oo.. I no kee person.

Weird things happened to me in camp;

1. I’d always bump into Emmanuel whenever I was at the tap washing my clothes. It didn’t happen once, twice or thrice. Crazy weird right? I know.

2. Teniola thinks I’m a reserved person because he never saw me make trouble and we always bump into each other when I was alone and calm. (Dey play my fanssss)

3. A certain someone always took unaware pictures of me. Apparently, he had a crush on me.

   

   Here’s one..

4. Two of my white shorts were stolen! I SAID, THEY STOLE MY SHORTS IN CAMP OOOOO. (Let’s not talk about this thing. My mummy will beat me if she finds out)

5. I tried out the Shawarma from camp and purged out all the evil things in my body.

6. It’s 5 days to the end of camp, boom! Tom-Tom decides to be friends with me. Tragic.

7. People cried when their relocation didn’t work out. Yup! Big big Uncles and Aunties were crying like babies.

8. Let’s just say a handful of people fell in love with me.

Hahaha, it’s a joke……or not. *evil grin.

Whilst camp was fun to some, it was a dungeon to others. There you get to meet people from different walks of life.

One thing was certain; everyone looked forward to the day of our release from prison. E.g meeeeeeee.

I couldn’t wait to go back to my NORMAL life for God’s sake.

I hurriedly ran back home after camp then, it hit me after the Easter celebration that I’d be going back to start life afresh, all by myself in Ekiti.

I’ll stop writing now.
